Butkovitz and Staff Receive Knighton Award for EMS Audit
Controller’s Office Receives National Award from the Association of Local Government Auditors

(Philadelphia) – Today, City Controller Alan Butkovitz and his audit staff led by Albert Scaperotto, Deputy of Post-Audit and Gerry Micciulla, Audit Administrator received the Bronze Knighton Ward for the EMS Audit titled: Emergency Medical Services: Strained Resources Creating Major Impediments to Quick Response Time

This award was honored for its complete review of the Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Services, its use of data, best practices, benchmarks and focus groups to tell a compelling story and its recommendations which if implemented would save lives.

Butkovitz stated: “I am much honored that our office has been recognized for our EMS Audit.  I want to congratulate Albert Scaperotto, Gerry Micciulla and the entire audit team for a job well done.  It is through their hard and excellent work that change in EMS response time is coming to Philadelphia.”

The Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA) is an international association of local government auditors founded in 1989 in Philadelphia.  ALGA is holding their 2008 Annual Conference in Philadelphia from May 18 to May 20, 2008.
